Granted that sounds like we are breaking up from School, and in a way our 12-month development of Mapsimise to date feels a little like having a child, but the pregnancy is 18 months long, so maybe we are making a baby dolphin...

But the development and realisation of what is underway here is phenomenal, and the more we do, the more ideas we have! Only today we considered offering Mapsimise with GEO Cache services, you can read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geocaching it might not mean a lot but when we go to market you might be able to build your own treasure hunts and have customers and friends track activity from Mapsimise on a mobile.

Ok onto another note, this is our end of year summary and it has been an amazing 12 months of research, development and realisation of just how geospatial applications can deliver unique views of data and enhance business offerings and services, in many different sectors across our connected world.

January saw our project inception and the realisation of what we had started as we had no real clue of what direction to go in as previously the team had concentrated on customer systems with Microsoft Dynamics 365.

By April we had as a team moved on in leaps and bounds and documenting the journey was well underway; the application and ideas were taking shape.

Into the Summer, and July was hot, but the development continued as there was a real buzz about what Mapsimise could be.

By early November the first big go or no/go milestone became a previous hurdle and the gloves were off, the team began to fly with some great concepts and ideas.

We are now at the end of 12 months of pure development and research, and if you added up all the people hours consumed, I’d hate to think what the cost looks like… Actually, I know exactly what it has cost up to this point, but that is not for sharing in this post.

So, it’s time to wrap up for the holiday and the Christmas break - we wish you all well. We will see you early 2019 ready for the final 7 or 8 months of build!

Don’t forget you can register as an early adopter, ready for the July 2019 release on the Mapsimise website: www.mapsimise.com

For those who celebrate it, we wish you a very Merry & Mappy Christmas.

Bio – Alistair Dickinson CEO Mapsimise

After 21 years helping organisations with technology, I’ve seen and worked on many projects. As CEO of Mapsimise I’m still very hands on working with all team members and not sat in an office making spreadsheets and crunching numbers.  I’m happy to work on the support desk, take calls and discuss how our tools and technology can help businesses like yours.  You can find me on Linkedin, Twitter or email me directly.  I’m very jeans and t-shirts and still wear Nike Air trainers to the office which I’m told is cool…
