Filtering your data should be a simple and pretty instant task but that's not always the case. We've made this our mission with Mapsimise. Let's find out more...
How do you quickly get the answer you need from your data? You may know already that you can do location related data filters on a map with Mapsimise and if you have created a few maps and layers you may have already successfully done this.
Data, data, everywhere... but how do you understand and filter it?
BUT
Have you tried out Quick Filters yet? This week, we are covering off Quick Filters for the different layers of data.
What are Quick filters in Mapsimise?
If you have not created one or accessed the Quick Filter screen, here is how you go about building and using a Quick Filter. First though, let us show you where they appear and how you can use them.
So, how do you go about making use of this really powerful feature? Like everything in Mapsimise we have thought about the end business user.
All you have to do is select the data layer [bottom left of screenshot below] and select the “Edit” option on the pop-up menu.

This will open a new pop-up screen with several tabs. You then select the Quick Filters tab and add new quick filter [top right of below screenshot].
A filter appears and you can adjust which field you want to be able to filter. Once you select the OK button the filter is saved with the map, and you can then save the map for future use with this filter.

What does a Quick Filter do?
Well as the name suggests, a quick filter allows you to select the types of data based on the field in the filter, so that you can reduce the data on a map to the data you want to concentrate on. Also remember you can edit your data tables to make field option sets if that helps with selection.

Once set up, a filter can be used from the top of the map and they are static but can be switched on and off just like other filters in Mapsimise [see below].
