It has been a little while since I’ve had the chance to catch up on our blog posts. Since the launch of the Mapsimise service in October 2019 we have been working with a number of customers to get feedback.

Some have asked me, and it is easy to understand why, “What is Geospatial” and “How can it help my business?”

The answers are pretty straight forward as it is all about data, data that you use every day to generate sales through marketing or through appointments.

Geospatial gives your business the opportunity to do more with your business data, and Mapsimise is a connected data offering meaning you can connect your data from platforms such as Salesforce, Dynamics 365 and SugarCRM. To find out more about the great features we offer visit our website here

So first let’s consider your customer database or your CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. They all hold a great amount of historic and current data, and usually present this data as a single record type in a list view.

When I say single record type I mean either a Prospect, Lead or maybe an account record.   Most databases have a search feature to find a single record.

…Now let’s consider viewing that data by location using Mapsimise.

You can easily build maps to represent your customers by location. If you are hosting events or planning to visit customers then Mapsimise can support with route planning for those team members on the road, along with heatmaps and proximity searching.

Research shows that being able to visualise data in charts or on a map helps with understanding how data relates, not only in a view of one record type i.e. customers but having multiple layers of data can show a visual connection. Therefore, you might want to see all your customers, sales opportunity and active support cases all in one single view on one single map.

Mapsimise also supports collaboration between team members so that data can be easily shared and viewed on one or more maps.  We have been working with a number of customers that benefit from these features allowing them to plan activities for Sales and Field service teams. Mapsimise is also fully enabled on mobile devices so it can be easily used when out of office.

The journey and process of building Mapsimise as a platform and service has been an amazing experience, and bringing together some great technology like Google Maps, Salesforce, SugarCRM and Microsoft Dynamics has enabled us to develop a unique offering to business.  BUT we haven’t stopped yet and additional integrations and services are continuing to be added to enhance what business owners like you need when using and having access to data.

You can get started with Mapsimise by following the simple steps below and building your first map with your data.

We look forward to working with you and helping you visualise your data, gaining location intelligence.
